Keeping Your New Years Resolution

The New Year is officially here! With a new year comes a lot of broken fitness new years resolution’s. For the regular gym goer January is a time where your gym doubles and you have longer wait times for equipment before it tapers back to normal in February.  We have tips so that you do not turn into the 1 month failed new years resolution.

1.Specific and attainable goals:

Choose goals which are specific, track able and attainable. For instance “I want to get fit” is not a specific goal. I want to lose 10 pounds by august is a specific goal you can track and measure.

2. Accountability – write your goals down

There is something about writing something down which helps to cement it. Talking about a goal is one thing but if you write it down helps to create a higher degree of accountability. Keep your goals somewhere you will see regularly like on your fridge.

3. Social Networks

Use the power of your social networks to help you achieve your goals. Tell your friends and family, post on social media, and join support groups. These are all ways that will also help with accountability.

4.Rewards

Celebrate the small wins! If you are making progress reward yourself!
