VAR In The World Cup
The introduction of VAR (video assistant referee) has been a hot topic this World Cup! One thing is for sure is that it can definitely expose a referee. Before, the argument was that it was hard for a referee to see everything in real time. With the addition of VAR there is absolutely no excuse for clear cut calls, once being reviewed by the Ref. If the call is upheld after the review, it can show a pure lack of judgement.

Watch below as the ball clearly bounces off of Rojo’s arm in the penalty box. The Ref reviewed the play using VAR and still somehow did not call the play a penalty. Maybe he needs his eyes checked, because this was absolutely ridiculous and one of the worst calls I have ever seen!
