Andy Steinfeldt – 71 years young recently broke the world record for planking!
The crazy thing is a few years ago he didn’t even know what the plank exercise was. Now according to Lakeshore Weekly News, he holds the Guinness World Record for the plank.
Steinfeldt originally started going to the gym a few years ago. While doing an orientation to see his current fitness levels he had to hold the plank for 30 seconds, but ended up doing 10 minutes before he was stopped.
It was reported last year when he turned 70, he held the plank for 35 minutes.
To put the icing on the cake for his 71st birthday on March 19th Steinfeldt held a plank for 38 minutes, which is the longest for his age group. Beating the old record of 36 minutes, 58 seconds.
This is a truly motivating story and is a testament showing how age is only a number!
