You can sprint faster by unlocking your hip flexors.
Most individuals have extremely tight hip flexors due to the amount of sitting down we do. You may be sitting down in class, have a desk job or be watching television. As a generation we sit too much. When we sit it places our hip flexors in a constant state of flexion. What happens when our hips are in a constant state of flexion is that these muscle start to tighten and shorten. This greatly affects your stride length because you will not be able to get into a full extension when you are running if your hips are too tight. If you can’t get an efficient stride you will not be able to run as fast and efficiently as you are capable of. Watch the video below to learn more about how to unlock your hips in order to run faster.
Having tight hip flexors does not only effect running and sprinting. There are many other benefits when it comes to loosening up your hip flexors which include good posture, better squats, overall you do not want to be operating with overly tight muscle groups.
Know your body, do not let tight muscle groups inhibit your movement.
